Northern Traverse 2016
Upon taking on this event, I've been tasked with taking photographs of as many people as possible within the possible bounds of time and able to get there. There being above Grasmere and time being as long as it takes...
Heading out on my course recce to make sure I know where to go, as I've not been up that valley before.
Getting to my position at 4:30pm in the afternoon, it looks like I could be really early but trackers aren't getting lots of signal so who knows. The first 190 mile runner was past me at 5:21pm. One puncture on the way to grasmere and it's windy, lets hope the wind slows a little.
I've seen 11 people past and just checked out the river temp, very warm also in a hidden spot for a quiet paddle.
The sun has gone behind a hill, so I waited a little while and then moved down the valley, less wind here, about 20 people to go. Thanks to eddie for asking if I had enough food, my photo on the floor didn't seem to have enough! (I had plenty thankfully.)
One guy mentioned about my leggings, I needed something light to keep me warmer, turns out I wanted some attention too lol
Now 9pm still 16 people left to come... 11:26pm 46 people past, four more to go and then a quiet ride home :)
Finishing off at 1:22am after seeing the last runner off I headed back home on some very quiet roads. It was 3pm when I finally got home.
